Univision’s Aquí y Ahora reports double-digit audience growth

El Chapo: El Eterno Fugitivo set record breaking audience levels in the current 2013 calendar year with 1.6 million Adults 18-49

Univision News, the news division of Univision Communications, Inc, announced that its primetime newsmagazine Aquí y Ahora, reported year-over-year double-digit audience growth in the most recent November sweep among Total Viewers 2+ (+31%), Adults 18-49 (+25%) and Adults 18-34 (+31%).“We are pleased to see that our investment and expansion in investigative journalism is helping Aquí y Ahora deliver year-over-year growth. These results speak to Univision’s ability to deliver in-depth reporting that’s relevant to our audience and distinguishes our position in the market,” said Isaac Lee, president of News for Univision Communications Inc. and CEO of Fusion. Aquí y Ahora (+25%) also delivered higher year-over-year audience growth compared to CBS’ 60 Minutes (+6%) among the key Adult 18-49 viewers. The program averaged 2.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.2 million Adults 18-49 and 485,000 Adults 18-34 and attracted an audience 14 years younger (47 years old) than CBS’ 60 Minutes (61 years old). El Señor de los Cielos- La Verdadera Historia, which aired on Sunday, November 17, 2013 (7pm ET/PT), averaged 1.2 million Adults 18-49 with a (+37%) increase over its prior telecast. The one-hour special recounted the life and exploits of Mexican national, Carrillo Fuentes.El Chapo: El Eterno Fugitivo, which aired on Sunday, November 3, 2013 (7pm ET/PT), set record breaking audience levels in the current 2013 calendar year with 1.6 million Adults 18-49, a (+88%) gain compared to previous telecast. The one-hour special followed the trail of the infamous Joaquín Guzmán Loera, better known as “El Chapo Guzmán”, in an attempt to paint a clearer picture of this ruthless and enigmatic drug lord.
